Investiture of the Gods: Starting from Farming
by 颜文卿
In the winter of the 25th year of Emperor Yi's reign, a modern soul transmigrates into a young ruler of a border state. On the night of the power struggle in the funeral hall, a system activates—Great Unity Under Heaven. Ten years of farming, three thousand people. Shi Bo is the first to believe in him; stones learn to write the character 'ren'; Old Ge smelts the first iron; Sister Qing uses a chicken to test the poison source. They do not worship gods, only themselves. The Nine-Headed Serpent King besieges with 20,000 demon soldiers; he cuts off the serpent's head with a single sword strike, burning ten years of fortune. The Investiture War begins; gods and immortals clash, mortals bleed. The State of Youfeng, caught between Xiqi and Zhaoge, becomes an anomaly. Nezha flees here and learns to laugh; Leizhenzi breaks his wings and learns to farm; Tuxing Sun drills into a chicken coop and learns respect; Wen Zhong's three thousand old troops submit, lining up before Shi Bo's grave. Thirty-eight years, 3,721 people die. Shi Bo dies after the final battle; Old Ge dies gripping his hammer before the furnace; Sister Qing dies clutching an egg by the chicken coop. Before the Investiture Platform, 365 orthodox gods take their positions. He leads three thousand people to erect a bamboo slip—'The first to believe in humans—Shi Bo.' Outside the Investiture List, henceforth there is a Human List. Gods return to their thrones, humans return to their hearts.
