A Life of Striving

Born in Yichang during wartime to a family originally from Zhejiang, he studied in Wuhan after the restoration, welcomed the People's Liberation Army in Chongqing, completed primary, middle, and university education in Beijing, and was assigned to work at Jiuquan Iron and Steel Company in Northwest China with Lei Feng's spirit. He volunteered to pioneer the most remote Jingtieshan Mine, stepped into the Party's door, switched to university education, restarted his career in Guangdong after reform and opening-up, overcame three hurdles, returned to the university podium in the new century, joined the Party at seventy, retired at seventy-two, and kept writing tirelessly.
