The Lone Shadow Detective: A Record of Strange Cases

Shen Jie, son of the late Dali Temple official Shen Nanfeng, was orphaned after his father uncovered evidence of rebellion by Prince Regent Xie Xiao. Shen Nanfeng tried to flee with his family but was ambushed by the Black Arrow Guard. Shen Jie was spared by the guard leader Xie Hui and left to die in the mountains. He was found by Xiao Yunshen, who took him in and renamed him Xiao Wujiu after he lost his memory. The Xiao family had a history of solving crimes, and Xiao Wujiu learned from their records, eventually becoming a famous young detective.
