I Am Not the King of Medicine
by 马之桥
This is a long historical novel recounting the life of Sun Simiao, faithfully and literarily recreating his experiences in learning and practicing medicine, allowing readers to see a warm and distinctive great physician amidst the mists of history. Sun Simiao repeatedly refused to become an official in the court, declined the position of imperial physician, traveled thousands of miles to provide medical treatment and medicine to the common people. His journey in practicing medicine was longer than that of the Tang monk who went to fetch scriptures. The 'Thousand Golden Prescriptions' he compiled collected over 6,000 prescriptions, left to us today, and also left a prescription for generations of doctors: great medical sincerity.
