The Screwdriver

During the isolated island period of the Republic of China, Shanghai sinks into chaos. Liu Xuemin, a repairman at the entrance of an alley, runs a miscellaneous repair shop, fixing locks, bikes, and all sorts of broken things. Everyone bullies him for his weakness, laughs at his cowardice, and sees him as a worthless weed on the street, humble and useless. No one knows that this grease-stained, ever-bowing craftsman moves between the military intelligence, the 76th, and the Japanese forces, step by step plotting, enduring and lurking. Using a screwdriver as his blade, he sets traps amidst the chaos of the era; using his lowly identity as armor, he hides his sharp edge in the marketplace. He gathers the downtrodden of the streets, forms a screwdriver team, and takes on dirty and dangerous jobs in the shadows. He borrows power to eliminate traitors, secretly passes sparks of hope, and under the glare of knives and guns, takes root in the mud. The military intelligence abandons him as a pawn, the Japanese see him as an ant. But the inconspicuous weed never breaks easily. No cheat powers, no divine drama, only a craft and a deep scheme.
