Memory Slaughterhouse
by 有声的子皓
In the city without ghosts or monsters, the deadliest horror is the wanton slaughter of human memories. Lu Chen, a temporary worker at the archives, is born with the ability of memory empathy, allowing him to perceive the fragmented pasts that have been tampered with and plundered. The city is plagued by bizarre suicides and amnesia cases, behind which lies the underground organization 'Wangchuan Bureau' and its black market trade in memories. They cut and sell memories for profit, and the broken memories turn into residual shadows that parasitize the living, reducing countless people to hollow shells devoid of self. Lu Chen's own life has been blank since childhood, and the dusty clues reveal a cruel truth: he too was once sent to the memory slaughterhouse. Following the archives, he pursues the dark conspiracy, and in the maze of memories, he mends the lives of others while searching for his stolen self.
