Hunting Codex
by 倾风逐月
Luocheng Prison, three in the morning. Lu Guize was dragged out of his cell, his shackles scraping the ground with a piercing cry. In the visiting room sat a man—Zhao Weiguo, the death row inmate he had personally sent to the execution ground three years ago. 'Surprised?' Zhao Weiguo smiled. 'Someone outside is protecting me. What are you?' Lu Guize thought it was just power crushing him. Until the skin on Zhao Weiguo's face began to crack—wrinkles, dark patterns, features not human emerging from beneath. 'You think you caught a human? No, you only caught a scapegoat.' Lu Guize's right hand suddenly burned. Golden characters seeped out from his flesh: 'Hunting Codex activated. Rule One: Only record true sins. Rule Two: For each evil hunted, gain sin power feedback. Rule Three: If the host dies, the Codex automatically transfers.' But the first rule was wrong. Three years ago, when he wrote the name 'Zhao Weiguo,' the name bled from the paper. Now that 'person' stood before him. There are doors in the world; enter them and gain power. In the palm is a codex; write who dies. But Lu Guize discovered that this 'death' was never the end.
