A Lifetime of Revenge

In the final years of the Southern and Northern Dynasties, Western Wei launched a campaign against Emperor Yuan of Liang. Wang Jingyan, a noble son, faced the destruction of his state and was taken north as a slave. Before his national grievance could be settled, a family feud arose: his father was killed by the newly powerful minister Chen Baxian, who usurped Liang to establish Chen. To avenge his father, Wang Jingyan endured humiliation and witnessed the rise and fall of Western Wei, Northern Zhou, and Sui in the north. Finally, when Sui attacked Chen, he followed the army south to exact revenge for his father.
