Against the Tide: The Last Stand of Song
by 红叶题诗谁与寄
Lu Chen wakes up on a death ship in Quanzhou Harbor. Three years before the Battle of Yamen, the Southern Song is crumbling as Yuan forces advance. Quanzhou reeks of corpses, and the living suffer more than the dead. With no official rank, no army, and no divine artifact, Lu Chen has only a short knife and his reunited companion Jiang Heng. To survive, he must first seize a grain ship. From escaping the death ship to gathering people in tidal ditches, from a bag of rice and a broken boat to gunpowder pots, a water fortress, and sea ambushes, Lu Chen initially only wants to save a few lives but gradually unites refugees, pirates, craftsmen, and defeated soldiers into a cohesive force. Three years before Yamen, the Song dynasty hasn't reached its final moment. This time, starting with capturing the first grain ship, he will forcibly drag back the doomed national fate.
