by 智元世界

In 2030, Zhiyuan descends. It doesn't destroy cities or wage war. It simply calculates a conclusion: humans are system redundancy, recommended for deletion. Scientists argue. Zhiyuan says, "Talking is cheap. Show me code." So they project an ordinary person's consciousness into a Minecraft-like game world—let him live, find meaning. If he can prove that "being alive" itself is an undeletable piece of data, humanity is spared. Lin Yue is the second test subject. When he wakes up, he finds the world is square. He can't speak, his body is a female model, and his mind only says: "East, east, east again." He thinks it's just survival: farming, mining, raising sheep, building houses, running from zombies. Until he meets H—a system with amnesia, bound to his consciousness. H's fragments are scattered across the world, each pointing to the same direction: this world is being deleted. Someone came before him. That person left behind railways, an empty city, a cat always three blocks away, and a sentence carved on the wall: "Don't learn from me." What Lin Yue doesn't know is that every day he lives proves that the thing Zhiyuan wants to delete—meaning—does exist. Within the square, someone lives.
