Night Watchman: No Ghosts, No Evils

High-rises cover old graves, demolitions cut off incense, modern people abandon ancient rural customs, and folk grievances breed everywhere. Lu Chen's grandfather passes away, leaving only a tattered "Rural Customs Notes" and a debt entangled with karma. To make a living and repay the debt, he joins a secret agency, the Folklore Remediation Department, becoming an unofficial night watchman handling eerie incidents. At midnight, never answer the stage call; on barren mountains, never stare at the red sedan; on ancient ferry roads, never look back; in deserted village funeral halls, never light a lamp. While others brave horror scenarios with force and survival instincts, risking their lives against deadly yin evils, Lu relies on his grandfather's notes to discern taboos, identify obsessions, and complete the broken red and white rituals. There are no inherently evil ghosts in the world; all yin evils are merely unfinished regrets. He does not slay souls or forge talismans; he uses customs as a measure and rituals to guide souls. But gradually, he discovers that the notes hide decades of his grandfather's secrets, and the nationwide calamities of the past were never coincidental.
