Ten Minutes Past Midnight
by 精心
The most regrettable decision of Song Ye's life was taking that midnight delivery job. The address was an old tube-shaped apartment building in the old city district that should have been demolished long ago. He stepped inside and scanned the area—the floor was impossibly clean, and there were large damp patches on the ceiling corners, as if water had flowed upward. Just as he was about to curse his bad luck, his phone screen suddenly went black, and only one name remained lit in his contacts. The person calling him was his partner, who should have died ten years ago. Even more bizarrely, he found himself able to smile, his right fingers unconsciously stretching. Damn it, some doors, once pushed open, can't be easily closed again. — Description from novelcodex.org
