My Spells Came to Life

by 一笔因果

Meng Zhao burned the furnace for four years and only saved up half the money for a boat. One day, his little fire spell refused to go out. It eats pancakes, is afraid of water, and remembers who scolded it. When it meets a fire-devouring demon, it jumps out first. Someone offered sixteen taels to buy this living flame. With his savings, that would be enough to buy a boat and even get his mother a new cotton jacket. Meng Zhao asked: "After it's refined into a fire seed, will it still recognize people?" Later, the water-avoidance spell he learned also came to life. One is gluttonous, the other timid; the two spells squeeze into a broken clay bowl in his mind, neither willing to yield. Meng Zhao sets out with them from a small awning boat. The first trip is to take his mother to see the lanterns, but when they reach the city, they encounter a youth being dragged down by a bamboo box and unable to move. The river road is long; first, earn enough for the next meal. — Description from novelcodex.org
