Hongxian 83: Yuan Xi of the Late Han
by 三江粟米
This is a novel I spent nine years writing. In 2017 my child was born, and I couldn't sleep night after night, so I kept the computer on and played Romance of the Three Kingdoms X to pass the time. As I played, a thought struck me: what if that Yuan Datou—the man who was emperor for only eighty-three days and changed the era name to "Hongxian"—got to live another life, transmigrating into the Three Kingdoms? And so this story was born—Yuan Shikai transmigrates into Yuan Shao's youngest son, Yuan Xi, escapes from a dying city in Xiangping of Liaodong, heads west the whole way, holds the rear, takes an arrow, gathers the scattered remnants, and finally sets up that blank stone tablet in Anding. In his past life it was over in eighty-three days; in this life, he wants to live a few more years. Nine years, 920,000 characters, growing up alongside my child. — Description from novelcodex.org
