The Old Palace in the Long Wind

Shen Yan, holder of dual degrees in political science and economics, transmigrates into the Dayong dynasty, where powerful clans hold sway and deep-rooted abuses lie hidden. As a scholar from a humble family, he witnesses how fame and rank can be bought and sold, and how those at the bottom have no way to survive. Entering the game with a modern mindset, he builds wealth through merchants and plays chess in the court. While laughing off ancient customs, he slowly pries open the rigid old order. He does not cling to power; he seeks only to set things right and bring reform—watch as a poor scholar stirs up a long wind that sweeps across the dynasty. — Description from novelcodex.orgFull novel: The Old Palace in the Long Wind — read the rest free on NovelCodex.org
